Today is the last day of 2008, now in office blogging this post.
Usually, I had loads of resolutions for the coming New Year. But for my 2009 New Year resolutions, it will be health and happiness for my family and the closed ones around me.
Loads of stuff had happened this year and reflecting on them made me realised some of the things are really childish and dumb. So to myself, I want to learn how to let go of things and not be so conscious about what others' opinions are about! As long as things i do made me happy and not something that will harm others, that i will continue to do that will make me smile and not feel so empty!

This happened on last Sunday and Ms Claire made me lily livered!
We went home after having dinner with Pirate King's family. I told Pirate King to give Ms Piggy a shower while i made her milk and changed her bedsheets!
So after her shower, Pirate King put her into the baby cot and turned his back on her while getting her clothes from the drawer. He forgotten about my constant naggings on "Keeping an eye on her every moment, no matter how safe you thought the place is!" Guess what, Ms Claire being very active, climbed out of her cot and fell down onto the floor! I had witnessed many times on her attempts to do that but i will remind her not to do that or stop her from doing that!
Pirate King did not managed to catch her and i heard a loud thud and wails from her! I immediately went to her and saw her standing there crying, buck naked. I scooped her up and pacify her while at the same time check for any injury!
Later we took her to KKH A&E for a piece of mind and to check for any other injuries. The doctor reassured me after examining her that she is alright. I did not scold Pirate King or what, i just told him, "This will teach you a lesson for being careless and not listening to me." I had many occassions asked him to dismantle the baby cot but he refused citing the reason that its good for diaper changing etc....
As for me, i was really scared shitless hearing her wailing and stuff but at the same time trying to be calm. I broked down when i reached KKH after seeing all the babies/toddlers crying buckets as i cant bear the thought of my little rascal going through all these!

Recent development of Ms Claire
Claire is now 14th months++ and she never fail to amaze us with the kind of things that she can do!
1. She loves to be a free range chicken!
When we put her in the stroller, she will give us a super black face and protest when we harnassed her up. The moment she gets out from her stroller, she will chuckle happily and starts to toddle around, exploring her environment just like a free range chicken!
2. Singing & Dancing
The moment we sing to her, she will attempt to sing along, clap her hands and dance by swaying her butt! Now, she knows how to say, "Ee, ya, ee, ya oh!" from the song, "Old Macdonald had a farm"! Its very funny to hear her sing that!
3. Meal times
Feeding her has became quite a challenge. Previously, she will sit still in her baby chair for us to feed but now, she will attempt to climb out of the chair or simpy refuse to sit still. The worst is she will merlion all the food out if she refused to eat anymore! That simply drove me crazy and quite a few occassions, i lost my temper by shouting at her or smacking her mouth! Now, we just try to distract her where possible.
4. Bad habits
Whenever she doesn't get her way, she will wail really loud and the more you tried to pacify her, the louder her wailing is! So, i simply ignore her when she is up to her stunts. The moment she realised that it doesn't work, she will stop wailing! Also, when she knew she has done something wrong, she will cry first so that we won't lecture her!
Conclusion => Raising Ms Claire is really a challenge and humbling experience for me too!
PS: It is confirmed that Ms Claire is a drinker! We let her try red wine and ice wine, instead of giving us the Yucks face. She wanted more of those!

Constipated one!
Mum called me this morning and told me that Ms Claire has difficulty pooing and she cried while trying to poo!
In the end, Mum resorted to use the ear digger to dig out a portion of her poo.... Per Mum's description, the poo was hard and alot.... Once Mum did that the rest of her poo came, my heart ached when i heard Claire's cries over the phone.
Once she has finished her big business, Mum called and gave me a "lecture" on not feeding Claire enough water, bringing her out too often etc etc... Sigh... not easy to be me!

Poor Sis!
Sis has been working in London coming close to 3 months! From her emails, she told me she has became damned fat (her exact words) that she can't wear her clothes and the weather is too cold for her to exercise outdoors!
She encountered culture shocks in her work and hates her work environment that she asked me to pass her contacts of any job agents to her. She was REALLY looking forward to her friend cum new housemate, S coming over to London as S managed to get herself a working stint in London too!
S has a good fren, K since sec school and S, K & Sis are all JC mates. K went to London together with S, she told Sis that she will be there to help them out with their house hunting and stuff. Before S & K went to London, they had already made plans with Sis to go Paris. Apparently K was unhappy that S invited my Sis to go Paris with them.
At Paris, K was the travel partner from hell that made Sis so tempted to tear up her train ticket and leave her stranded in Paris alone. She threw tantrums and scolded Sis & S for every single thing that she was unhappy with! Sis told me that the worst was at Disneyland, K scolding & pointing her finger at both of them. Her antics attracted lotsa attention from the visitors there! Sis was so embarassed!
Anyway, Sis just dun want to have any contact with this friend of hers and she just can't wait for the day, K is going back to Singapore! The only thing that cheered her up is seeing the video of Claire harassing Fat Bond! Hahaa!

Different stores, different level of service.....
No wonder, the retail sector service in Singapore is so lousy. Below are my 2 encounters that justify this claim!
Birkenstock vs Club 21
On Thursday, cheapskate me went to the Birkenstock shop in Tanglin Mall to try out the pair of sandals (Sizing) i wanna get online..... Boy, the Sales Assistant there pigeon-eyed. If you are an Ang Moh/look rich/speak England with an Ang Moh accent, the service provided is first class but i dun belong to any of the category.... So u can imagine the service level provided? But, i can't really complain coz I m not buying rite?
Went to Forum later (where all the Club 21 shops are => PLACE WHERE THE RICH CAN REALLY BUY THE STUFF), even though i was just checking out the merchandise with Piglet in tow and did not buy anything. The sales assistants are friendly, they greet & smiled at me! In one of the store, the sales assistant even went into their store to get me the different designs and colours of the scarfs they had left! I managed to get a winter scarf for my Sis there!
Conclusion => Club 21 trained their Sales assistant well. As for Birkenstock store, the Auntie looking me can afford to buy your sandals!
Cortina vs The Hour Glass
On Friday, we were window shopping for Ah Bond's watch at Cortina Watch. Somehow, i find their sales assistants do not know their products well and they just want to close a deal. So, i told Mum perhaps we might go to The Hour Glass to check out the watch again. (Pirate King & I got our watches there mah!) Even though i did tell Mum that the prices will be approximately the same for the watch at different places.
After a while, Bond got his Tudor watch (his 21st Birthday gift from my parents!) At night, Bond was examining his watch and realised that there are a few hairline scratches! Mum's instructions were either to exchange for a new watch or refund!
So, i went down today to get it exchange and Cortina informed me that they can't exchange and they will do the touch up for me so that the scratches will be gone. Told that to Mum and got an earful from her, so went back to Cortina and managed to get a refund for the watch.
Pirate King and I went to The Hour Glass to check out the watch for Bond. The sales assistant recognised us and told us that the watch Bond wants is not available but he can order for us. We spent a bit of time there and managed to get the info required. (HK Aunt wanna get a Rolex watch for my cousin)
Conclusion => The Hour Glass staff knows their products well and are able to provide the extra service. They will advise on how to maintain the watches etc. Whereas Cortina dunno their products well and gave me the sense that they just wanna close a deal... Somewhere, Cortina gave me the impression that they are an Ah Beng store. Simply put, got money also dun want to spend at Cortina!

Interesting day
Was on leave yesterday (gotta clear my last day of leave if not it will be forfeited!!!)
Morning - Took care of Piglet till time to go out for lunch to meet up with Mum, my HK Aunt & my Sembangwang Uncle & Auntie.
Noon - Went home after lunch to let Piglet have her afternoon nap and prepare her dinner
Evening - Took a cab down to Tanglin Mall with Piglet to check out the pair of Birkenstock that I wanna get online. Managed to get a scarf for Sis as Christmas gift. Met Pirate King & Mum for dinner at Sushi Tei. Encountered some lousy sales service (Will blog that in another post!) We got Piglet a magnetic doodle board as her Christmas gift!
The day went by very fast and the only thing that got to me was the incident at night, whereby Pirate King's coffee spilled on Piglet's Benz and we gotta clear up the mess (Leaving me in a lousy mood!) And since i can't sleep, I tidy up the store room and slept at 3 am in the morning!

Things Ms Claire is up to now
Ms Claire is really a mishievous one!
Ever since, she discovered the freedom of walking. The world of exploration has widened too!
Yesterday, Mum was cooking her own lunch in the kitchen. Ms Claire went to the kitchen and opened her cabinet. Guess what, Claire took out a porcelain bowl and broke it! Mum immediately scooped her up and away for the fear that she might get hurt. This little rascal even want to go near the broken bowl while Mum was clearing the mess up!
Another day, she opened the cabinet and took the glass container out. She carried it and attempted to toddle to the living with it from the kitchen. Thank god, Mum saw it and took it away!
Also, she won't sit still in her bamboo chair during feeding time. She will crawl to the side table and sit there. Mum says she even tried dancing on the table but stopped when she realised its wobbly and she might fall anytime.
Yesterday, I saw her dancing and clapping her hands at the nanny's place. Her nanny told me that she will go inside her room to see the baby and said,"Baby" before going out of the room. Whenever Claire wants us to carry her, she will stretch out her hands and say, "Baby" to me... How can I resist her?
Quoting Mum's words,"Taking care of her now, is like watching over a herd of cows!" For me, its a challenge not to lose my temper at Claire coz she is really testing my patience!

Morning, woke up at 5am (thanks to Piglet)... Fed her milk and she refused to go back to sleep afterwards... Causing me to be frustrated and I ended up scolding her.
Went to work looking like a zombie and Xmas tree as I was carrying 3 bags, my handbag, a bag of maternity wear (to pass to my pregnant cousin) and a paper bags with 2 pairs of shoes for repair.
At work, told my colleague that i would cover the lunch duty for her as I had a lunch appointment with MK (my ex-colleague). This cute colleague of mine told me that she wont be able to cover my lunch duty for me coz she is on leave. I told her that its no big deal..... Anyway, the lunch duty will be forever JOKE of my department.
Met MK for lunch and he told me that i m looking great despite alot of things happening to me! He mentioned that I m a "Super Mum"! Thanks for the compliment but i think i still far from it!
I was so tired when i went to Mum's place to pick Piglet up! As my in laws are sending us back home from Mum's place. We had to wait for them... While waiting for them, i got to try out my new digital camera (idiot-proof) and went to Bedok Central for a walk.
In the car ride with my in laws, my MIL was nagging at Pirate King for passing the germs to Piglet for a whole 15 minutes and my husband totally DESERVES it! I dun understand what is it so funny about Piglet breaking a bowl and holding on to a glass container... My in laws laughed when we told her about her misdeeds.
I told my MIL that sometimes Piglet is so mischievous that I gotta scold or beat her. My MIL used the same old line on me, "She is still young and won't know. Can only teach her when she is older."
Me thoughts on this, everything starts from "YOUNG"... and its easy for her to say coz she is not the one taking care of Piglet 24/7 and see what she will say if she has to look after Piglet just for 1 day... Anyway, my ILs are so 爱面子 that even though they buey tahan.... They will still say that its not difficult to look after Claire!
Back home, Pirate King asked me a lot of questions on trivial stuff. I tried not to snap at him and i just told him, "Dun ask me anymore... Just do what u deemed fit!" Afterwards, i accompanied Piglet to sleep... Once on the mattress besides Piglet, i knocked out till Pirate King woke me up to go back to the bed to sleep!
It was really a day! Now, i just wish for a day where Piglet will just sleep by herself without my company~!

The lousy weekend of Ms Claire!
My dear gal is down with flu again!!! For the past week, she has been waking up 3-4 times in the night as if from multiple nightmares. This is a nightmare for me too coz she will only return to sleep with me besides her! Her constant wake ups in the night seems to be symptoms of falling sick!
Last Friday morning, Mum called me and told me that she heard her coughing in her afternoon nap.... And on Friday night, Claire woke up at 3 am crying. I woke up and made her feed, she did not finish her milk and cried when i got out of the room to clean the milk bottle. Mum came over (we were staying overnight at Mum's place) and came to sayang her. After I came back to the room, I heard her nose was super blocked and she tried very hard to sleep... So, i woke Pirate King up (sleeping in my Sis' room) and asked him to help me administer the medication on her.
Boy, did she wail when he administered the medication on her! After that, i was trying my best to comfort her as she was still sobbing.... Pirate King then touched her hand and asked her, "Why are you throwing tantrums, Ms Ang?" The moment her Papa did that, she WAILED AGAIN!
My parents were awakened by her and came over to see what's wrong. Guess what, she wants her Popo to manja her... So Mum slept besides her, patting her and speaking softly to her. This rascal of mine finally got to sleep!
In the morning, we booked an appointment with the paediatrician for Claire. Pirate King & my dad will go to the temple and pray first and meet us at the paediatrician's clinic later. When we reached the clinic (it was a long wait), Claire tried to "destroy" the toys at the clinic and she tried to interact with other children at the clinic too.
When Dr Chan tried to check her ears and throat etc, Claire wailed again. Dr Chan played peek-a-boo with her while listening to her lungs and stuff! Dr Chan told us that her lungs are cleared and that if her symptoms dun improve after a week of medication. We have to bring her in again as she s afraid that it might develop into bronchitis.
I asked Pirate King whether is he able to handle Claire alone at night as I need to attend my colleague's wedding dinner. He told me that he will be fine even though Mum offered to take care of Claire for us but i refused it as I want Mum to rest during the weekend!
Claire was especially sticky to me and she was wailing when Pirate King tried to feed her porridge. She simply refused to eat when her Papa fed her and only ate when i fed her. However, her phelgm acted her and once she coughed, she vomitted all the porridge that we fed her. She was crying big time when she vomitted. Perhaps, she was worried that we might scold her but i guess its more like she was feeling lousy!
About one hour later, she was crying for food and she eagerly finished the rice cereal that I made for her. After that she was very stick and kept on crying if she dun see me anywhere near her or put her down when i m tired from carrying her. When i left the house, she was wailing big time.
Pirate King told me that she continued to cry till she 's tired and he din manage to feed her the medication as she fell asleep after her last milk feed!
On Sunday, Ms Piggy seems to be in better shape but she drove us crazy with her antics of being sticky! Basically, she refused to sleep, refused to let Pirate King carried her while I m around. Boy, i m so tired! Now, I just want her to get well soon and be my cheeky gal!
Last Friday morning, Mum called me and told me that she heard her coughing in her afternoon nap.... And on Friday night, Claire woke up at 3 am crying. I woke up and made her feed, she did not finish her milk and cried when i got out of the room to clean the milk bottle. Mum came over (we were staying overnight at Mum's place) and came to sayang her. After I came back to the room, I heard her nose was super blocked and she tried very hard to sleep... So, i woke Pirate King up (sleeping in my Sis' room) and asked him to help me administer the medication on her.
Boy, did she wail when he administered the medication on her! After that, i was trying my best to comfort her as she was still sobbing.... Pirate King then touched her hand and asked her, "Why are you throwing tantrums, Ms Ang?" The moment her Papa did that, she WAILED AGAIN!
My parents were awakened by her and came over to see what's wrong. Guess what, she wants her Popo to manja her... So Mum slept besides her, patting her and speaking softly to her. This rascal of mine finally got to sleep!
In the morning, we booked an appointment with the paediatrician for Claire. Pirate King & my dad will go to the temple and pray first and meet us at the paediatrician's clinic later. When we reached the clinic (it was a long wait), Claire tried to "destroy" the toys at the clinic and she tried to interact with other children at the clinic too.
When Dr Chan tried to check her ears and throat etc, Claire wailed again. Dr Chan played peek-a-boo with her while listening to her lungs and stuff! Dr Chan told us that her lungs are cleared and that if her symptoms dun improve after a week of medication. We have to bring her in again as she s afraid that it might develop into bronchitis.

Sigh... Not easy....
Just received a call from my Mama with regards to some financial issues of my Papa..... Mama was sobbing over the phone as she talked to me for 5 minutes.
Me, there's nothing i can say except to be her listening ear and told Mama not to think too much about it!
My parents' marriage is an example to us (me and my 2 siblings) that might prevent us from getting married but quoting my sis' words, i still take the risk to get married and have a kid now.
Frankly speaking, Papa loved Mama very much and he really took care of us very well... except that he has never been honest with Mama and caused us a lot of grief in terms of emotionally and financially.
Things that Papa did make us 3 kids disrespect him and my sis din even want to talk to him at all... And now its only my brother and I on talking terms with him.... It pains my heart to see my parents behaving in such a manner...... Hopefully, Pirate King & I wont end up in such a stage.

Lousy mood
In a lousy mood today due to lack of sleep & the discomfort that PMS had given to me.
My dear Piglet has been making me suffer a lack of sleep. Pirate King is sick (he still has not recovered from his bloody flu!) Piglet has this annoying habit of waking up a few times at night crying (nightmares?) since Monday and I m looking like a zombie... Coz its me who tend to her whenever she woke up from the crying spells! My dear Pirate King is totally knocked out and he wont even wake up when Ms Piggy breaks into her super wailing mode!
Just realised that my Big Auntie visited me today and that partly explains my lousy mood. As i dun wan Small Fry to kena my moodiness cum perhaps the BLACK face..... I flew her 747 for our lunch date.... Yo friend, lunch on me next week okie... At Amoy FC at the Hua ji Wanton Fee stall, extra char siew & veggie!
So what i did do to make myself feel better, i spent my whole morning reading blinkymummy's blog. I had put her blog link on my template. I would say, she is someone that i think i might want Piglet grow up to be sans those bad habits like smoking & clubbing.... (Okie, that's the Mummy mode in me!)
During lunch, I was thinking... I might wanna visit my little sis in London in April 09 ALONE! It has been a long time since i took a trip alone! The first time i took a trip alone was in 2002 to Brisbane, Australia and I spent the whole 2 weeks there doing nothing and enjoying my freedom there! Only problem that is stopping is MONEY! Mabbe i should try to find a way to raise funds for this trip!
As least, i think this trip will let me to get away from the world for a while and having some ME time! Perhaps, i should work on the feasibility of this plan!

Drinker in the making....
My dear gal got drunk!!! This incident happened 2 weeks ago and the conclusion is Ms Piggy is a drinker in the making!
My Mum loves to have a beer occassionally with her peanuts. So, she will pour her Hoegarden into a beer glass and sipped it slowly while watching TV. Claire being the ever glutton, saw her Popo drinking the beer.
She toddled to her popo and demanded to drink it.... We let her licked some of the beer foam! Guess what, after a taste of the beer foam.... She WANTS MORE!!! Mum of course refused to give it to her and Claire tried to snatch the beer glass from her! She was so furious when we refused to let her continue drinking!
After a while, Ms Piggy's face was flushed with redness! She was walking like a drunkard... And started singing! It was so funny to see her in this way! (Will upload the only pix showing her trying to snatch the beer glass from Mum)
Guess, Claire wont be able to hide from us in the future if she has gone drinking!

Random Sightings
My colleague is having her customary wedding on this Saturday. She is busy with the last minute preparations of her wedding stuff.
Yesterday she went for a trial make up with her make up artist provided by the Bridal Studio. She was so upset with it and told the make up artist about what she dun like about the trial make up. The make up artist gave 1001 excuses for her look and stuff.
Just now, i overheard that she has this intention of removing her make up in the morning (on this Saturday) and get her cousin to redo the make up for her. We told her to find another alternative make up artist but its difficult to find a good one at such a short notice.
I consoled her that she will look her best on this Saturday. My conclusion, if u dun like means u dun like it.... Dun hv to give things a second chance when possible.

I HEART my Brother!
Hehe, think my brother will faint when he sees the title of this post!
Fat Bond is so sweet! He called me last week before he is back home from Australia to tell me that Piglet and I can sleep in his room!
He will touch down in Singapore at night and we will definitely go to the airport to pick him up. So, he has kindly offer his room for us to sleep! Even though he has no room to sleep and needs to bunk in with our parents!

Walking => New Found Freedom!
Ever since seeing Hayley walking steadily at the party, Ms Piggy became more willing to toddle (walk) by herself!
Now, she can walk unassisted better and her favourite hobby is walking up and down the stairs or escalator!!! Walking has became her new found freedom! She loves to walk and is especially happy walking in vast areas like Changi Airport T3.
We went to T3 to pick up my brother who is returning from his 5.5 months of training in Jervis Bay, Australia. While waiting, we let her walked..... Boy, she was so happy with Hendrik (the boy who my Mum used to babysit) holding her hand and walking with her.... Once she gained enough confidence, she does not want us to hold her hand....
She will walk halfway, squat down and touch the floor. I m paranoid of her touching the floor coz of her eczema flaring up... but she seems to be okie with it.
Quoting my Mum's words, she is most happy when we let her be a free range chicken!

November Babies cum Xmas Bash
The November Babies cum Xmas bash was held on 30th November 2008 at my place.
My house has never been so full of toddlers! There were in total 16 toddlers and not forgetting many adults!!!
My dear gal was utterly blur when she first saw so many toddlers.... She took a while to warm up and I m so proud of her independence as Pirate King and me were so busy till we dun have the time to attend to her.... Thank god for my parents, who came to help out especially my Mum!

Ms Difficult!
Ya, my little Piggy has became Ms Difficult!
Usually, Claire & I will stay overnight at my parents' place on Wednesday night as its Pirate King basketball night too. Last night, after giving Ms Piggy her last feed, i switched off the lights and slept with her.
As usual, she will roll about and sing before she s willing to settle down to sleep.... But for whatever reason, she refused to sleep and she crawled to the door (we will sleeping in an airconditioned room) and bang on it, like attempting to get out. Upon getting no reaction from me, she started to wail (FAKE CRIES) and it was loud..... Loud till Mum had to come over and pat her to sleep....
This morning, Mum complained to me about her antics. Mum put her to poo in the potty, she only poo a bit, she cried and attempted to stand up when Mum put her back on the potty. After a while, Mum seeing no more poo from Claire. She cleaned Claire's butt and went to the kitchen to do her stuff....
Guess what, Mum heard cries from Claire.... She went to take a look, my little Rascal had pooed a lot in her diapers. Mum was so angry that she smacked her butt. Claire wailed buckets and wanted Mum to carry her but Mum just ignored her cries and stuff.
Sigh, just dunno what to do with her......

Painful
I was on 1/2 day MC yesterday. For whatever reason, I feel the urge to puke and the greasy feeling in my stomach was enough to make me sick.
The first question that the doctor asked was,"Are you pregnant?" I almost fainted. Anyway, I m not pregnant. It seems that i have a lot of stomach air and its stress-related. Doc told me that I have to learn to relax and let go of things at work.
On the way home, my left side of my body became very stiff and painful. Its as if I can't move at all! So I had no choice but to go for a massage. After the massage, i was feeling better but still the pain is there....
Guess i gotta ignore my dumbo superior at work and relax!

New Jacket for Ms Piggy!
Got this new jacket for Ms Piggy! We were window shopping last night and came across this brand, DPAM at Raffles City Shopping Centre.
We need to get a new jacket for her coz she has outgrown those that we had bought for her/hand me downs.
Mum gave the ok for this jacket as the material is suitable for our weather and Claire looks very pretty in it! Only problem is, it costs $50... But i still go ahead and buy it for her. I had washed the jacket and will be ironing it tonight....
I must max this jacket before Ms Piggy outgrown it!

The sense of disgust is getting stronger
The sense of disgust with my boss is getting stronger by the day. And i must find a way to convert this disgust into a Taichi strength to push the shit that she piled over me back to her!
Last week, we had a deadline to submit to our head office in Hamburg. This idiotic superior of mine forced me to do an inhouse project, while the rest of my colleagues were busy doing the Hamburg stuff. Finally, i managed to finish the inhouse project but left with one day to complete the Hamburg task.
Finally, i managed to get the Hamburg task done. Guess what, today at 4.21pm, my DEAR SUPERIOR did and below is our conversation:
IB (idiotic boss): Josephine, here is a list of the stds that I need you to check and review it with me.
Me: Har, I did not have a copy of the calculations like what the rest has. As I was only left with one day to settle it before you submitted it to Hamburg leh.
IB: Then i think you have to re-work it from scratch and review it with me tomorrow morning coz i need to reply them (Hamburg) by tomorrow morning.
Me: Oh, okie (INSIDE BOILING WITH RAGE)
Sheesh, i felt like telling her, why dun u pass the things to me a 6pm instead. Due to the nature of the calculations, i had to run a pivot table and running this table takes up alot of time and stuff. So, i was just ranting to my colleague about how slow the system is....
Idiotic boss commented,"Josephine, why are u so grumpy today?" At that moment, felt like slapping her in the face!
Now, I FULLY UNDERSTAND WHY ALL MY EX-COLLEAGUES LEFT! Its just so disgusting to work with someone who does not know how to manage her time and prioritise her stuff. Also, provide the so called "Interesting" work does not add value to my growth and it just made all of us looked idiotic in the eyes of other departments!
Now, i just gotta hang on and look for greener pastures. The longer i stayed in this place, the more useless I feel myself to be!

Things that Ms Piggy LOVES!

2. Dancing => More like butt shaking! She loves to support herself on the iron grille at her Popo's place and then sway her butt to and fro! At times, she will kneel on the floor, sway her body and clap her hands at the same time!

Weaning Ms Claire from the Pacifier
This decision arises out of the blue as I had accidentally bought 2 pacifiers home and at my Mum's pl, there was no pacifier left.
Thus, Mum decided to wean Claire from the pacifier. Claire needs her pacifier only when she is sleeping. Well, she was kinda cranky without the pacifier but she still managed to sleep for 2 naps at Mum's place.
Oke, the rest test... At night, she was making noise big time without the pacifier. I told her that she is a big girl now and big girl dun need the pacifier. She sort of understands what i said, she was quiet for a while but made noise again till she fell asleep!
Day 2, SHE WAS MAKING NOISE BIG TIME at night but i guess she knocked out again...
My conclusion, i gotta bear with a few nights of "MUSIC" before i can say it was a success weaning her off the pacifier!

Oke, the rest test... At night, she was making noise big time without the pacifier. I told her that she is a big girl now and big girl dun need the pacifier. She sort of understands what i said, she was quiet for a while but made noise again till she fell asleep!
Day 2, SHE WAS MAKING NOISE BIG TIME at night but i guess she knocked out again...
My conclusion, i gotta bear with a few nights of "MUSIC" before i can say it was a success weaning her off the pacifier!

Walking? The time is not ripe yet!
Claire has been able to walk assisted for a few months but this little piggy of mine simply refused to take the big step of walking by herself!
We witnessed 3 instances of her, taking 2-3 big steps unassisted!
Now, she simply refused to walk without holding onto our 2 hands and she prefers crawling!
Guess the time is not ripe yet for her to walk!

Words!
Its so funny to hear the words popping out from Claire's mouth!
Her best words are, "Papa" in various dialects (Cantonese being the most well pronounced!)
Now, she likes to say "No" in Mandarin whenever she can and it seems as if she knows what she is talking about!
Either that, she loves to do the "Oh" expression with her mouth!

Alone with Claire on SQ 873
My mind was freaking out on the thought of travelling alone with Claire a few days before we were due to go home!
Somehow, I managed to survive travelling alone with Claire! Our flight was the night flight and thus we left HK Aunt's place at 5.30pm. Doris & Mum sent us off at the airport.
We went to check in our lugguage first and i requested for assistance at the counter. The assistance provided to the boarding gate was NIL (my cousin in law told me that if i had insisted/demanded, it will be GIVEN!) The ground staff seeing that I was travelling alone with Claire allowed me to check in everything.
So, i checked in 2 suitcase + 1 box (Claire's tricycle!) that amounts to 40kg! Nevermind, i piggybacked Claire into the restricted area. Mum was worried and I told her to go back with Doris coz i will somehow survive the flight.
At the immigration, the airport staff seeing that I was travelling alone, piggybacking Claire. He directed me to the shortest queue for immigration. Afterwards, we went to the scanning station, everything was done fast!
I went to the Disney store, EYS & the bookstore to do some last minute shopping before going to the boarding gate. Somehow, i m amazed at myself, 4 bags in total with a toddler in tow.
Once, we reached the aircraft. The flight stewardess helped me to carry my bags and stowed them into the overhead compartment. The only unpleasant thing is that this male passenger who is supposed to sit in the same row as me, expressing his dislike loudly of not wanting to sit with a baby. I can understand his reason but there is no need for him to say this loudly in front of me," I DUN WANT TO SIT WITH A BABY!" Its utterly rude and i embarassed him further by commenting to Claire that noone wants to sit with us coz of her.
To me, its the best thing coz i got 2 extra empty seats. That guy is pretty dumb as there are many babies/toddlers on board and sound TRAVELS! During the flight, the air crew was very nice to me. They assured me and attended to my every needs. My dear rascal was enjoying herself by crawling up and down the aisle with me tailing behind her.
Some kind passengers played with her and told me that its not wise to let her crawl as the aisle is dirty. I told them that if i dun let her do that, she will be screaming and wailing! My dear gal only made a scene when the plane landed in Changi Airport and I thanked god for that!
When fellow passengers saw my luggage at the luggage belt, they were amazed by it! One auntie even asked, "U mean they let u check it all?"
My conclusion, travelling alone with a toddler does have its perks but its really tiring and I m glad that i survived! *Salutes* my Mum coz she also did that when i was a toddler too!

Roseola
Claire got it in HK!
We went to HK with Mum on 18 Oct and subsequently, Claire developed a high fever in the middle of the night, she was cranky and can't get to sleep.
Mum woke me up and HK Aunt accompanied me to see the 24 hour doctor at Nathan Road, Kowloon. I din know about the standard operating procedure in HK. Apparently, the clinic nurses will take the temperature of the patient if the patient is suspected to have fever.
The clinic nurse din take Claire's temperature and the moment we get to see the doctor. The doctor is a young chap and seems to me a GREENHORN! He was in the typical Catholic Priest pose (no offence to any Catholic Priest!)
The doctor asked 1001 questions about Claire's condition. HK Aunt got pissed off and questioned him why he is not taking Claire's temperature. He gave this dumbo explanation that it the SOP to ask questions before taking her temperature. Me got so fed up with his questions (they seem illogical to me) that i gave him this statement in PLAIN OLD ENGLISH, "WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?"
This greenhorn immediately took her temperature, gosh Claire is running a high fever of 39 degrees and this idiot is still giving me crap. So this greenhorn idiotic doctor prescribed some fever & additional medication (supposed to bring her fever down)...
But Claire's temperature never really went down and I have no choice but to bring her to see the PD in Central, HK. The PD immediately diagnosed her to have roseola and his diagnosis immediately reassured me. But, my heart sank when he told me that he has to teach for UTI and if Claire really kena UTI, she has to be HOSPITALISED!
The urine test was really a torture! The nurse attached an urine bag to Claire's privates. The first time, the urine bag came off. The second time, Claire did not pee and finally we got it done for the 3rd time. My dear gal wailed and screamed whenever we tried to take her temperature or put the urine bag on her!
Me was so worried and frustrated by the antics of HK Aunt. I knew she meant it for Claire's good but it was really irritating to me. I did not want her to accompany me to see the PD coz i been there before. She kept on asking people about the directions to the PD's office and doubted my words. Furthermore, she insisted that the nurse gave Claire medication to lower her temperature. And the nurse was pissed off by her insistence and gave her attitude problem!
I told Pirate King that I really went bonkers over this! Mum understood my thoughts on the whole issue. My conclusion is Hong Kongers are really 10 times more KIASU, KIASEE than Singaporeans!
So, I have no choice but to bring Claire with me back to Singapore first... Will share my flight experience again in another post!

Back in SG!
My HK Trip is really an experience!
What did i really do there, just shop & eat! I din manage to bring Piglet to Ocean Park as she was down with Roseola in HK and I have to bring her back to SG first ALONE!
I managed to eat what I wanted to eat in HK. Guess it will be some time before i bring Piglet to HK again!

In HK!
Hehe, this is my 2nd trip to HK in 2008!
Arrived here in HK yesterday, my cough is still as bad!
Have not gone out to the major shopping malls yet to get my stuff. Will be doing it in a couple of days!
Ah fry, hehe... I had a very nice dessert today! No picture to tempt you!! :P
The dessert is "Ginger Juice with Milk"... Only this stall near my Auntie's pl is good! Hehee....
More food to be eaten!~ To heck with my cough! :)

My dear Ms Claire merlioned on me yesterday...
And she did this stunt in the air~!! We were travelling from SG to HK on the afternoon flight.
The flight stewardess passed the post weaning meal to us, my Mum told me to take it away and I told Mum that since they had given it to us. Might as well just feed her with a bit!
Awww, this little fussy piggy of mine, disliked the taste of the food... And she VOMITTED ON ME in the AIR!!! My blouse was splattered with all her puke and i had no choice but to wear the jacket all the way from the plane till I reached my Auntie's pl in HK!
That is a really MEMORABLE SQ866 flight on 18 Oct 08 for me!

Meet Up with Ah Fry~
Hehe, met up with Ah Fry yesterday...
It was a good lunch and i enjoyed it very much coz it has been a long time since i had lunch kaki... I usually lunch alone ever since my colleagues left and with the Junta policy my boss has, i tend to keep to myself.
Ah Fry, must fix up lunch date with u every week when i m back from HK!
Let me see if i can taobao some dim sum for u hor.... Roasted goose is impossible coz it will be oily goose when its back in SG!

Tui Na + Taxi Encounter Last Night!
I went to Tui Na yesterday after work and thank god, i only pulled my back muscles not sprained or strained it!
The Tui na lady suggested i do gui sha coz i was heaty... Wow, i almost fainted from the heat & pain when she does it! Pirate King commented that my back has 2 MRT tracks on it and told me not to wear clothes that is too low back. He joked that if ppl saw those MRT tracks, they will think that he abuses me!
After my tui na session at 8.30pm, i decided to take a cab back. I told the cab driver, "Redhill road", guess what, he drove me to Bukit Merah Central. I was not happy with him sending me to the wrong place and he still mumbled & grumbled to me saying, "Redhill not bukit merah meh!"
I told him in my matter of fact voice, "Uncle, just drive me to Redhill road that is opp Redhill MRT station." He sensed my buey song tone and kept quiet. Once i reached my place, he told me to pay $9 instead of $9.70 as per the taxi meter. I just gave him a $10 note and told him to keep the change.
For me, i just dislike his grumbling & mumbling and i pay him $10 coz he also has to spend $$ on fuel and its not easy making a living as a cab driver. I guess he s quite stunned that I gave him $10.

My Junta boss told me that she has 3 things to discuss with me today before i go on leave tomorrow. Out of these 3 things, 1 is extremely high priority cum urgent, 1 is extremely redundant while 1 is not so urgent!

Me: JT asked us to do the CL1 loss shipment analysis. Very bo liao one....
SM: Aiya, i already told her many times liao. No need to do one. The areas got access to the data and its not like the old times.
Me: Yalor, always ask me to chase the areas for explanation. They always ignored me!
SM: NO POINT doing but she always think such things will add value to her work!
For me, she s the boss. She called the shots and i just gotta do whatever shit she wants. Despite i think its very very non value added and pointless to do. Coz this CL1 shipment will always change as its a live system. Today, it will show a loss but tomorrow it will be a gain... And can u imagine how much "SLAPPING" i got from the areas whenever i ask them about it?
Sigh, just hope that my chance comes~

Hurts like shit
Me dunno sprained or strained my back muscles!
It hurts like shit now. It happened last night when i tried to grab Piglet as she was crawling away from me to put on her clothes...
Then suddenly, a thrusting pain... The first thing that came to my mind is, "SHIT!"
And the worst thing is Pirate King has a netball practice and cant fetch Piglet home with me. So, poor Mum (who hurt her back too) has to help me carry my bags while i carried Piglet to wait for a cab!
Thank god, the wait for cab wasn't long! Morale of story, I NEED TO EXERCISE!
PS: Down with a lousy sore throat too!

Just no mood...
My co's new owner is City of Hamburg wef 1 Janaury 2009.

UTterly broke, over the weekend... Pirate King, me & Piglet went shopping and we bought abount $1k of household stuff.
Our shopping loot:
1. A set of WMF pots - $472, original price is $995 (Pots given by my MIL is simply too big and not useful at all! )
2. An expensive Leifheit mop set + accessories - approx $300 (our part time cleaner was complaining about our 3M mop, decided to get this coz will be easier for us to use if we decided to ask the part time cleaner to leave)
3. A Leifheit clothes dryer - $117.30 (our current one is insufficient to dry Piglet + our clothes)
4. Other miscellanous stuff!

Run in with boss
I had a few run in with my boss over work since this week.

I am a fashion disaster today!
Mum met me at Raffles Pl today for lunch and to exchange $$ for our upcoming HK trip.
The moment she saw me, "Aiyo, how come u wear like that? You should just change the top."
Me: "Ma, I know.. but i was thinking no need to meet ppl... So anyhow wear, besides no change of shoes mah..." => Me staying overnight at Mum's pl today and i gotta work tomorrow.
Hehe, can guess what am i wearing to get such a response from Mummy dearest? Brace yourself for this!

2 Major Companies kena shit from me!
Just to share, 2 major companies just got it from me recently.
The first one is a national carrier and famous for the "S Girl" ads. My Sis is generous & kind enough to let me redeem her KF points for air tickets to HK. I had redeemed 2 tickets (one for Mum, one for me) and due to super user unfriendly KF online system. I had to call their hotline to request for certain changes and they repeatedly told me to cancel my bookings and amend it online DESPITES me telling them SEVERAL times about my request and problem.
In the end, I managed to get an email address and wrote in to them. Thank god, my problem was resolved and i highlighted to them about their "HOTLINE". I dunno shd i choose to fly with them again in the future....
The second one is the One with the Golden Arches, my colleagues and I were working OT last thursday. We decided to order from them and get them delivered the food to us. My colleague called and they told us that they can't process our orders as their hub is closed for the time being due to the overwhelming telephone orders.
So, i called them and asked them about alternatives. They gave me a whole lot of bullshit again. And me in a lousy mood and being bitchy again, told them off again. Now i remember, i got to write in to their company and complain about it!

Ah Sow Passed Away... Sigh
Ah Sow passed away on 1st October 2007, 7pm++
She is Mum's landlady, Mum stayed at her 3 room flat in Old Airport Road when she first came to SG from Pahang, Malaysia.
Ah Sow is like Mum's sister. Whenever Mum needs help, she will call her. Ah Sow will dish out advice on what to cook for us kids & etc whenever we re down with an illness or stuff. Ah Sow even plucked "chicken shit" grass for Piglet to bath in when she heard that Piglet was down with skin problem.
Every Chinese New Year, we will go to her place and her place will be bustling with activities. The adults will gamble while we kids will play.
Ah Sow was diagnosed with cancer 1.5 years ago. Due to miscommunication or what, she did not go for chemotherapy straight after her first operation. Her condition was erratic, sometimes good and sometimes bad... About 1-2 mths before her death, I even bought Piglet to visit her at Old Airport Road. She was happily chatting with us even though, she was not feeling very well..
2 weeks later, Mum told me that Ah Sow's condition was very bad. She was bedridden and refused to talk to anyone of them. It was only when Sis told her about her impending trip to London and Piglet, then she responded. Later, Ah Sou was hospitalised for 2 weeks before transferring to the hospice.
She finally passed away and I m glad as she no longer has to suffer. Somehow, I told Mum that its better to pass away in an instant rather than in such a painful way. I wondered what will i do if such things will to happen to my parents?
Life is as such and i must learn to appreciate my parents more. And teach Piglet to love them in the way, i love them too.

Ms Claire's Birthday Celebration!
Just finished opening up her birthday presents with Pirate King. Pirate King has warned me not to get any more toys or clothes for her!
Everything went on fine except that the food was insufficient due to unexpected increase in the no of guests!
Claire seems to know that its her big day. She was cooperative, she allowed us to put on the pink clip for her and she was smiley to all except when she s sleepy! Oh, she even requested that she wants to eat her birthday cake! I just dabbed a bit of chocolate cream on her lips and she kept on mouthing, "Mum, mum" to eat the cake. We gave her a bit of it!
Will load up pictures of her celebration when i got the pix from my cousin in law. Big THANK YOU to Denise & my younger Sister in law and her 3 children for helping out with the deco!

Over protective? Table Manners?
Last Sunday, was out having dinner with my in laws. The usual participants, my parents in laws, my sister in law & her 2 children.
We went to the Pu Tian Restaurant at Vivo City. The place is small and in order to max their seating capacity. There re no room to maneuver, a little shift of your chair might just hit the person sitting behind you!
As usual, Pirate King's niece wants to play with Piglet and she chose to seat herself besides me. But my MIL wants to carry Piglet so Piglet was transferred from the baby chair to her arms. So his niece, L went over to the other side. My SIL stopped L and told her to play with Piglet when Piglet has finished her milk. I was quite surprised by her move. My SIL is liked a big stone, oblivious to anything around her... That includes her 2 kids! On 2nd thought, she might have seen me smacking Piglet for not drinking her milk properly.
So L has no choice but to go back to her seat! And in the course of our meal, L 's table manners are simply atrocious. She will use her spoon to poke our dishes and the adults simply let her be without letting her know that its rude to do that. Then, her rice grains are scattered all over the table and not to mention always requesting for extra food whereby she still has not finished those in her bowl! I was utterly shocked by her table manners as L goes to a childcare centre and they teached the children table manners!
After we finished our dinner, we went out and there are ample space for children to run about. My MIL kept on shouting at my SIL children not to run about as the ground is rough and stuff. This thought went on in my head, "Ain't kids at their age supposed to run free, fall down and learn about it?" When my MIL finished shouting, it was my SIL turn to shout for them.
I related these to my Mum and we reached one conclusion, "Whatever the children turn out to be, it s all the work of the parents!"
Being a Mother now, i can thoroughly understand the pain & efforts that my Mum took to raise the 3 of us up. And looking at my hubby's niece & nephew, I must ensure that i teach Piglet the right values and table manners!

Claire has a new found hobby - Prowling around to pull things from their original place and crawl away elsewhere once she has finished pulling the stuff!

- Telephone stand - She will pull out all the magazines first and stand on them, continuing to play with the keys & telephone.
- Her wardrobe in Ah bond's room - She will climb up the mattress and pull out all her clothes. She still dun hv enough strength to pull out Ah bond's 30" Elmo!
- TV stand - She will press all the buttons on the DVD player and TV!
- Anywhere else that entice her!
Guess once she starts walking, i gotta keep an eye on her!

New Skills
Claire has finally learnt how to wave bye bye to us and she will only do it depending on her mood!
She has started to jabber and the fun part is she seems to know how to hold a conversation with us!
Also, the best part is to see her sway her butt and body when we sing to her!

Lesson Learnt!
I learnt my lesson from organising online sprees.
Main reason for organising them is to share shipping costs but it was a hella of work and now, there re 2 ladies who did not pay me coz of the lost mail.
Now, i m just praying that their items get delivered and i get my money back. Also, i just hope that it s genuine that the items dun reached them but not when the items reached them and they lied that they did not get it!
Cost of this lesson: SG$50! Guess it is peanuts compared to those who lost everything in the current US financial crisis!

Claire's Birthday Celebration Preparations!
Ms Claire is going to have her 1st birthday celebrated on 5th Oct 08.
So, as parents, Pirate King & I had to settle the guest list, deco, catering + cake for the party! This party, we are inviting mainly our friends and close family members as we did not invite any friends for Claire's 1st month celebration.
Frankly speaking, organising her party is not easy. We have to find the catering, the party theme & cake and all within the budget!
I m thankful that my family gave alot of suggestions in terms of catering & cake. In the end, we decided on a simple Barnyard theme for Claire, with catering from Eatzi Gourmet (thanks to V who helped us ordered the food) and the birthday cake from Choc-a-bloc (with Mum giving me suggestions on which cake design to choose!)
For me, my part is organising online sprees to get her party deco items and in the process of organising the sprees, i learnt something and realised that no matter how efficient Singpost is.. There re still lost parcels! Keeping my fingers crossed that i m able to get my $$ back!
Now, i just gotta pack party favours for kids and do the deco on that day! Many kisses and hugs to my best gal pal, Denise for agreeing to help out to settle the deco!

Overspending!

No More Shitting Manners~
Yup, the title sounds Gross... How can shitting + manners be related?
Oh well.. Ms Claire s morning routinue used to be water parade + poo poo + bath + milk + sleep.
Now, no more water parade & poo poo! She will scream, twist & turn plus super drama big tears whenever we put her on the potty. Now, she simply refused to poo in the potty but likes to poo in the diaper.
The best part is, she will attract our attention to change her soiled diapers! This little rascal lost all her toilet habits aka shitting manners! Wonder how do we re-trained her again!

Send off!
The whole family sent off Sis at the airport yesterday.
Sis has signed a 2 yr contract with EY London, she took the 11.30pm flight. Her friends and colleagues came to send her off. She initially wanted to go to the boarding area at 10pm but was delayed till almost 10.45pm.
Piglet refused to let go of her and insisted on Sis to carry her. Piglet seems to know that Sis wont be around for a while. My dear Sis gave a gift to Piglet and told me to visit her in London next year with Piglet. I told her that i will save up $$ to go and visit her!
Sis, all the best and i will take care of the elders! :)

Sick again + Chilli Padi strikes!
My rascal is down with diahorrea & fever since this week.
Mum & Sis wanted to bring her to East Coast Park for cycling but had to cancel coz she developed a fever on Friday evening.
Her diahorrea started on Wednesday at the infant care centre and the staff there told me to monitor her. We suspect her diahorrea is due to teething but i guess nothing beats one to one care. When Mum is looking after her, she just had a mild bout of diahorrea when teething but in the infant care centre.... Fever strikes!
On a lighter note, the infant care staff told me that Claire will bite other babies when provoked and her target is just ONE particular baby! This baby boy, J pulled her pacifier out and snatched her toys. He din realise that Claire 's reaction is slower and thus the retaliation came slow too!
In fact, he stepped back when he saw Claire nearing him. Guess this little gal of mine is quite a feisty one!

Free Range Piggy!
Little Ms Claire drove me bonkers last night on the Singapore Flyer! It was the worst 30 minutes in the Singapore Flyer!
Pirate King wants to capture some shots on the Flyer and since we bought the Annual Pass, we might as well utilise it!
So, i put her forward facing in the Pikkolo. She was alright till we were up in the sky. She struggled to get out and i released her. She was so happy and she started to crawl & cruise. Things got out of control when she starts to pick things up from the floor and put it in her mouth. So i carried her and no more being a Free Range Piggy!
Boy, she showed us the power of her vocals. I was so pissed off that i smacked her on her butt! Pirate King told me that I should just let her roam free. I told him that if not for her sensitive skin, i will let her be. In the end, Pirate King carried her and she was so happy when we got out of the capsule!
In conclusion, it is the test of endurance now. To test how physically fit i am to chase after this little rascal!

Tough to do water parade
These days, its increasingly difficult to give Claire water parade.

1st Gathering with the Forum Mummies & Babies!
On 31st Aug 08, Claire, Pirate King and I went to a forum Mummy's home for a gathering!
We were the last one to reach coz we need to let Claire have her beauty sleep first!
Well, somehow me has lost the social skills to mingle and stuff like that.... But it was great fun observing the babies and their interaction with the parents and the babies!
For Claire, she is just being herself. A typical "anti-social" aka "bo chap" gal, she wont really smile at others. She will give others her typical stare. But, she really enjoys crawling and doing other stunts! I will say, at least Claire becomes more sociable as compared to before!

Eye Infection gone haywired!

I tot Claire has recovered from her eye infection. This morning, i just discovered that her right eye is infected!!!
Awww, i m just worried that she wont recover in time to be sent to the infant care centre!
Yup, we will be sending her to the infant care centre on next Tuesday. My heart really ached for her to be sent there... but keeping fingers crossed that my Mum s back will recover soon!

Mum just gave us notice period for us to find an alternative childcare for Claire coz of her back problem!

Sick!
Poor Claire... She is down with flu!
Her running nose starts on Monday. Whenever she sneezes, her green snot will come out!
She was very cranky for the past 2 days and she refused to sleep. She needs us to be around!
Pray that she will recover fast! Flu bugs go away and stay away from Claire!
PS: Felt so guilty, she must have caught a chill either from her swimming session or due to the cold airconditioning in Bugis Junction over the last weekend.

10 months old!
Claire turned 10 months yesterday!
What did i do to celebrate her 10th month old?
I trimmed her hair and i think it will grow back nicely in time for 1st Birthday celebration!
Now, she looks like a boy with her short haircut and i think she cried during the haircut as she saw that she looked like a boy in the mirror!

Some new things about her:
1. She likes to jabber more to herself!

Her 2nd Swim
We bought Claire for her 2nd swim last Saturday!
This round, she was expressive as compared to the stoned look she had on her 1st swim!
She was very happy to be in the water, she knew how to kick her legs and not as tense as before.

First Swim at a real pool!
Last Saturday, i bought Claire to my cousin's condo in Seng Kang to utilise the baby pool!
Pirate King didn't go with me coz he got recalled back to office last minute due to a server failure. Being the lazy Mummy, i dressed Claire in her Ralph Lauren blue swimsuit (a gift from my Sis) and with the Kate Mack terry bathrobe i bought for her in an US spree, so that she can head straight to the pool once we reached the baby pool!
Unfortunately, it was raining on my way to Seng Kang and the water is slightly cold. I tot it will be a damper again but we brought her to the pool. As the KKH pd told us that its strictly 15minutes for Claire in the pool, i have to keep track of the time!
When we put Claire in the pool, she gave us this stoic look. We tried ways to entice her to smile but she still gave us her signature stoic look. So, i pushed her around in her float and 5 minutes before time is up, this cheeky gal of mine started to scream & smile!!!
She loves the water! Too bad there is no photographs to show as my cousin can't find her camera!

Changes
Last night, I realised the change in Claire.
There are so many changes in Claire from the day she is born till now and the most significant one i will say is her sleeping pattern.
When she was just a newborn, she won't sleep at night and will be awake during 1-3am. During this period of time, the confinement nanny will just carry her and tried to lull her to sleep.
In the period when she is 2-4 mths old, she needs to be carried and lull to sleep. Pirate King will sing the Jungle song to her while i sung my Sweetie Pie song. She will look at us with her eyes and listen intently to our singing till she dozed off.
From 6mths onwards, she doesn't want us to carry her or required us to sing any bedtime songs. She will just need us to sleep besides her and let her hold on to our finger or looking at us intently with her sucking on the pacificer before falling asleep.
The only thing that remained unchanged is she still need someone to accompany her till she falls asleep.
That's my Claire and I will always miss the days when her little hand clung on tightly to my finger and singing the Sweetie Pie song to lull her to sleep.

Fortunate Gal!
Sis came back from SF this morning and she bought lotsa clothes for Claire!
The clothes that Sis bought from SF are not cheap and after conversion back to SGD, she has bought SG$200 worth of branded clothings for Claire.
The brands are Ralph Lauren, Baby Gap & Osh Kosh! I was just telling Claire that i dun even have a Ralph Lauren Polo tee for myself!
Claire seems to know that the clothes are for her and she s behaving like a vain pot. She gave us bright smiles whenever we placed the clothes in front of her!
The best part is she took a while to recognise Sis (Sis was away for 3 weeks plus!) Once she knew Sis is her favourite Yiyi, she flashed bright smiles at Sis and not forgetting attempting to play with her!
Claire is really fortunate to have so many people doting on her. Sis told me that her colleagues had to literally dragged her away and refrain her from buying any more clothes for Claire in SF.
As for me, I gues if ever i have the chance to go to SF, i will go crazy on a buying spree!

Her new ECA!
Yesterday was Wednesday so Claire & I stayed overnight at Mum's place.
Mum told me about Claire new ECA a few days ago but i dun have the chance to witness it myself. I managed to see it yesterday.
Claire likes to crawl to the telephone stand and play with the stuff there. Mum's telephone stand has magazines on the bottom shelf and on the top shelf, there will be the telephone, a tissue box, the remote controls and the basket of keys.
My cheeky gal will first pull on the magazines out from the bottom shelf onto the floor. Afterwards, she will pull herself up and starts to play with the items on the top shelf. Usually, she can only play with the basket of keys coz that's the only thing we allowed her to play. She will scatter the keys with her little fingers and somehow got those keys onto the floor. Once all the keys are on the floor, my dear gal will crawl away to look for other entertainment!
Anyway, i m amazed by the way she managed to get all the stuff onto the floor!
PS: Claire gave me a hard time yesterday by pooing twice in her disposable diapers before her bedtime! The best part is she gave us a bright smile after she finished pooing!

Birthday Celebration!
Even though, there is like 2 more months before her 1st Birthday! I have already started her birthday party's planning (so called planning is looking at cakes & food!)
I had already fixed 5 October to celebrate her 1st birthday and we just confirmed the venue to be the Function Room of Pirate King's cousin's condo. Anyway, the function room can only be booked on 8 August. Keeping my fingers crossed that we will get it!
Now, Pirate King had asked my in laws to give him a list of relatives to invite to Claire's celebration. At my side, its just only my immediate family, some close friends & colleagues!
Pirate King wanted her celebration to be in early part of the day, like 9am-3pm but after Mum's advice, i told him to make it 3pm - 9pm. As this allows Claire to have sufficient sleep and not be cranky, Mum has promised to lug Claire to her birthday celebration after her beauty sleep!

Internet is powerful, it allows alot of things to be done easily (like ibanking, e-commerce), communication time cut short and made cheap (sending emails via continents). Oh, i can list out 1001 things that internet has made our lives easier.
But one major pro & con of internet is information overload! Also, the information provided might not be real or true. So this whole saga is dumb! It just shows how free they are to be engaged in such lawsuit. Ultimately, the best winners are the lawyers who represented them!
Personally, I dun like both of them. Both looks equally horrible in terms of looks, one is too sweet for my liking while the other looks too unnatural with her long eyelashes + blonde dyed hair.
If ever anyone of them will to read this post, let Mdm Wong (yes that's me) tell you this. You ladies still have a long way to go. When u reached my age, you will realise the blogsphere is nothing and that there's more to life than it!

My Current Obession!
Diamonds => My current obession!
Been wanting to get a pair of diamond earring studs for myself. I dun mean a pair that could be found easily in the jewellry shops. I want a pair of 0.5 carats, quality diamond studs!
Quality meaning, 2 loose diamonds of at least 0.5 carat each, color grade between D-F, clarity between FL-VS2 and cut between excellent & very good. If i got all the top for each of the C's, I m going to pay a hefty price for it!
The best part is I m thinking of getting the loose diamonds from this site, www.bluenile.com In fact, i m just shopping around to check out the price and the specificiations of the intended diamonds.
I came to a conclusion, i can only buy the loose diamonds when i had saved enough $$$! Coz, by getting the diamonds online & shipped to Singapore (Bluenile is an US online retailer), i will definitely have to pay import taxes? and the definite 7% GST on the loose diamonds.
Guess i either buy the loose diamonds here in Sg or just save up more $$ before even thinking about buying!

Rashes!!
Poor gal, imagine my shock when I saw her all covered in RED, ANGRY rashes when i was bathing her this morning!
Mum called and I told Mum about it. Mum told me that it could be Claire being too heaty as Claire didn't poo after this morning's water parade.
After finishing her lunch, we bathed her in Oilatum Plus to reduce the amount of rashes and literally creamed her up with the moisturiser!
Mum came to my place in the afternoon and was upset to see the rashes on Claire. She told Claire,"You re so petty. Yesterday i was asking Doris not to call you Ugly Piggy coz your skin is better. Now, you re back to being an Ugly Piggy."
Afterwards, Mum told me the rashes might not be due to Claire's heatiness as with Mum's help (water parade), Claire managed to poo and her amount of poo is big! It could be due to dirt & dust at Pirate King's fren place.
Then i recalled, we went to Pirate King's fren place last night and the floor was dirty. We let Claire crawled around and Claire was scratching too. When we were back home, we din bath Claire as she was fast asleep. We only wiped her. Perspiration + dust accumulated = RED, ANGRY RASHES!
Sigh, felt so bad for subjecting Claire to all these unnecessary rashes! I doubt i want to go to Pirate King's fren pl either!

Shopping with Mum!
Mum came over to my place in the noon to see Piglet!
So, she played with her till we put in to sleep in the sarong. Once Piglet is asleep and Pirate King awake from his afternoon nap, we went to Orchard for shopping!
Mum told me about the stuff that Doris bought yesterday. (Mum was out shopping with Doris) We went to Zara to check out the top that Mum wanted to get but we din see it. Afterwards, we went to Far East Plaza to eat the Rojak but it was closed.
So, we went to Taka's MOS Burger to settle our dinner. It was shopping all the way, i went to check out my shoes & clothes. There was this pair of shoes that i wanted to get but they dun have sizes! Guess Sporeans are getting richer, I tot i was one of those few who re willing to spend more than $100 on a pair of shoes... Guess I m wrong!
We went to Cova to have desserts! Cove stuff are expensive but the food is good! So its worthwhile!
Anyway, i managed to get 2 pairs of shoes at Isetan Scotts. I tried to psycho Mum into getting a pair of shoe but failed! Nevertheless, i find myself satisfied just getting some retail therapy!

I knew that Claire wasn't some baby to trifle with but i din expect her to show off her power at the tender age of 9 months!
Went to Pirate King's friend place for his son celebration. His son is 4 yrs old, the first grandson of the only son in the family (but not really the only grandson coz his friend has 2 sisters.) This boy, A is simply spoiled.
My dear gal is a curious cat and she saw those LEGO towers that A built. She crawled towards them and she destroyed those towers with her hand! A was so pissed off and he showed his anger by stomping his foot with an angry face.
Claire retorted by pouting and giving him an equally fierce look. This further agitated A! A's Mum came over and told him to share his toys with her! I find Claire's reaction funny! Its as if she knew that she gotta protect herself!
Guess, Claire is a chilli padi in disguise!

Demoralised.....
For the past few days, horrible headaches came to plague me.
I wonder isit due to my excessive staring at the PC monitor or simply killing my brain cells.
Work is always never ending. I m quite upset as my last 2 colleagues who came in the same time as me are leaving. I seem to be the last woman standing, even though my colleagues who came in much later are ok but the spirit is different.
Plus, i don't understand since my co is out for sale. Why do those idiots sitting in the management still pile on extra work to us? Now, i just want the sale to go through and be confirmed about the final buyer!
Guess what, i m organising spree to lift my spirits up! Now, i just prayed that my sprees will be successful!

Mother & Daughter
Had another tiff with Mum yesterday over Piglet. Piglet did not go over to her nanny's place as her "boyfriend" was down with flu since last Friday.
Mum was tired from looking after Piglet for the whole day. So i finished my dinner and Mum told me to feed Piglet water. As usual, i have to give Piglet water parade. Piglet was wailing and i had to do stupid things to distract her to stop her wailing. Mum said that i was noisy and the neighbours might slam the door. Guess what, Mum told me to stop the water parade.
I put Piglet sitting at the side of my thighs and she did not stop wailing. I bended down to pick up a food particle that Mum dropped. Perhaps due to her excessively wailing, Piglet became tired and toppled backwards. I was nagged by Mum for not keeping a watchful eye on her. I was so pissed off!
I carried Piglet with me to the kitchen to throw away that food particle and Piglet merlion all over me. I gave out a loud "ah", Mum scolded me again for scaring Piglet. Men, i was so angry that i m ready to scream!
Somehow or other, I managed to get Claire clean up with Mum's help. Later, Dad shouted at me to clean myself up. I was pissed off with his tone that i retorted back. Mum scolded me for being rude to Dad after i came out from my bath.
Anyway, to cut the story short. I went home immediately with Piglet after my bath. We took a cab back home and Mum called me and questioned me on Sis's letter. I guess her call was to gauge my mood bah.
I told Pirate King about the whole story. Pirate King was funny, he "punished" Piglet by giving her a pat on her butt and told her not to be so mischievous!
PS: This morning, my Dad "scolded" Piglet for making Mum scold me.

Crying Claire!
Somehow i dun understand why Claire cries everytime she goes to my in laws' place.
Yesterday, Pirate King & Claire went to my in laws' place. I din go as I was sick and needed rest. Pirate King told me that Claire cried the moment she stepped into their apartment. It was almost non stop crying for the whole 2 hours there.
She only stopped crying when they carried her out of the place. My Mum thinks that it could be aura of the house as with or without me around, Claire will cry the moment she steps into the place.
That's the main reason why i dun wan to go to my in laws' place!

On diet?
Claire has gone on diet again. I suspect it could be due to teething. I saw 2 little white spots on her upper gum.
If the 2 little spots are really her teeth that are sprouting out, i would say Claire is one unique baby! Most babies will sprout their first teeth on their lower gum followed by the teeth on the upper gum. So far, Claire has only 1 tooth on her lower gum!
Looking forward to see her other teeth, wonder how long will she be a One toothed gal?
PS: She is getting more and more mischievious & a curious cat on the prowl! I m enjoying every moment of this with her even though it drives me crazy at times!

Our relationship with our Father is somehow screwed up. None of us (including my Mum) wants to talk to him. Sometimes, i find him quite pathetic that no matter how he tried to engage us in a conversation, we simply just cut him off especially my Sister.
Yesterday, we went to the Singapore Flyer. All of us are happy but a little incident that happened at the ride entrance that utterly ruined the mood.
Mum, Pirate King, Claire & I went into the entrance first and waited for the rest of them. Suddenly, we heard Dad's loud and angry outburst over food. Apparently, Dad was not allowed coz of the food we bought from Breadtalk. I was taken aback by the commotion and I just took the breads and told the person in charge that we re not eating it on board the flyer. I will just put it in my bag.
The lady explained to me that strictly no food allowed and i have to put the bread at the baggage counter downstairs. I told her that its a hassle for us and we are in such a large group. It ended up, she helping us to put the bread at the baggage counter. Dad shouted at me for not letting him settle the matter in his hands, Virginia told me that their attitude was very bad when talking to Dad on the food.
I told Dad, no matter how awful their attitude is, he doesn't have to behave in such a way. Mum further emphasized that his behaviour will only make us unwilling to go out with him in the future. I feel bad for telling Dad off in front of Virginia & her family. Sigh, just dunno what to say or do about Dad~

Exercise for the Ang Family!
Today, we went to IKEA at Alexandra for dinner and followed by a shopping trip to the supermarket at Anchorpoint!
The main purpose is to buy toilet paper. However, supermarket shopping is one favourity activity of mine. So we browsed around to see what other stuff we can get. Since Pirate King told me that we will be taking a cab home, we might as well utilise the cab fare and buy stuff we need.
So, we bought the following:
4 packets of toilet rolls, 2 packets of 1L fresh milk, 1 box of 1L yoghurt, 2 refills packs of fabric softeners, 1 pack of swimming diapers, 1 box of baby biscuits and 2 bottles of Ginger beer!
Guess what happened, there was no taxi in sight and there begun the exercise for the Ang Family. We walked home from Anchorpoint to our flat at Redhill. So, i was carrying Claire in my Pikkolo while her Benz was used to ferry our supermarket stuff home!
I think the walk took about 20-30 minutes and it was really exercise for everyone. Thank god, Claire was busy observing her surroundings that she did not act up cranky! But, it was quite a fun thing to do even though it was tiring!

Another Funny Encounter!
Yesterday, we met up with Mum after finished doing Fat Bond's stuff. Mum forgotten that Claire & I are staying overnight at her place so she took Claire out to meet us too so that I could bring Claire home!
After a tiring day, we took a cab back to Bedok. While in the taxi queue, there is this Chinese guy from Beijing who striked a conversation with us. He asked us how old is Claire and is Claire a gal?
This is the one time a stranger who got her gender spot on! Quoting Bond's words,"This guy never stops talking!" He shared with us about his 15th month old daughter's milestones and development, tips and stuff that we should do to let Claire develop better!
Imagine my surprise when he said that we should let Claire eat prawn, drink pork bones' soup etc.... At the end of the day, I told my Mum that even though we re Chinese but we practise stuff differently! I think if i let Claire consume prawns, her eczema will flare up big time!

Homecoming for Popo!
Mum, Sis & Fat Bond reached home on Monday midnight from their Hokkaido trip.
Since Mum did not see Claire for 1 week and she missed her terribly, she asked Pirate King to bring Claire to Bedok for a visit. As usual, the lazy Pirate King doesn't like the idea of going since we will be bringing her to my Mum's place on Tuesday. Me being me, asked him this question, "How will you feel if your future son-in-law dun want to bring your grandkid to visit you?"
Well, Claire pouted for a while and wailed when she saw my Mum aka Popo at the lift lobby of my parents' block. That's her welcome present for my Mum! All of us felt that Claire is unhappy that my Mum left her alone for 1 week and by crying, she is showing her displeasure!
Nevertheless, Claire is thrilled to see my parents, Sis & Fat Bond! She was shrieking and smiling all the time there!

More toys and stuff!
We bought 2 toys for Claire and both are from Fisher Price.
The first one is as per the below picture. It is a walker cum ride on toy. It acts as a stimulant to assist Claire in learning to walk and once she knows how to walk, it can be transformed as a ride on toy!
The other toy we got for Claire is an animal stacking one. So far, she seems to enjoy the animal stacking toy as compared to the above walker. Nevertheless, i will continue to teach her how to play with the toys.
Not only toys, we also bought a set of WMF children's cutlery and some clothes for her. I guess if my Mum is reading this post, she will lecture me on spending excessively on Claire. Sometimes, i wonder is it Claire wants it or I want it?

Eye Infection
Claire got this eye infection since Friday. On Friday, I met up with Pirate King and her for dinner at City Hall. On our way home, I discovered that her left eye kept on tearing and there seems to be discharge too.
So, both of us decided to monitor and observed. On Saturday morning, we discovered quite a huge amount of yellowish green discharge. Pirate King and I debated on where should we bring Claire to see the doctor.
In the end, we bought her to this clinic that is 2 blocks away from our apartment. We waited for 2 hours before seeing the doctor, the doctor diagnosis was less than 10 minutes. The doctor prescribed her an eye gel (to clean her eyes) and eye drop (for treating the infection)
It was such a struggle trying to use both of them on Claire. Pray that this eye infection will go away soon!

Home alone with Pirate King!
As my Mum is travelling to Japan with my 2 siblings for 1 week, Pirate King has took 1 week of medical cum annual leave to look after Claire. I can't take leave due to the nature of my work.
Today marks the 1st day that Pirate King is alone with Claire, my Mother in law will be coming over in the morning to help him out till afternoon.
So far, Claire has behaved herself well from the telephone conversations I had with Pirate King.
Will update more progress on her 1 week stint with Pirate King!
PS: My Mum & Sis miss Claire so much that they demanded to meet Claire yesterday. They even kissed & hugged her when we said goodbye!
