Boy or Girl look?

This question will be asked everytime when strangers saw Claire, "Boy or girl?"

It gets irritating when Claire is clad in a pink dress and everything around her is pink, pink blanket, pink socks etc...... Okie, I dun like the overdosage of pink clothings on Claire but the clothes that my family and friends gave to me are mostly in pink!
So, throwing out this question to the folks who read Claire's blog, "Boy or girl?" based on the above pictures! I welcome all your answers as she is not wearing pink in the above!
PS: Do let me know of any places that sell girls' clothings in any other colours than PINK!

Who do I resembles more?

Hehe, based on the Look A Like Meter, Claire looks more like her father than me! This has been proven even though my in laws insisted that Claire resembles me!

Forward!

Ever since Claire discovered the joy of flipping over on her tummy, she has been constantly doing that. For me, my worry is that she will merlion and dirtied the mattress. That usually ends up extra work for me.

But my worry is unfound, Claire being a lazy piggy, she will only flip approximately 1 hour after her milk feed. This morning, I discovered something new!

Mum put her on her mattress and encouraged her to exercise. Claire just looked at Mum and do nothing. Once Mum left her alone, this cheeky gal rolled over and started to "crawl" forward! It was the first time i seen her do that and it is so hilarious! Seeing her making those sounds when crawling forward and resting halfway when tired!

Mum told me that its not her first time doing that and Claire seems to have an acute sense. Whenever, Claire "crawled" forward and almost out of her mattress , she will make noise and get Mum to place her back onto the mattress!

Eczema - Part 5

Last Saturday, Pirate King & Mum brought Claire for her 6-in-1 jab.

Guess what, Dr Chan gave her the Prevenar jab too. I had prepared a list of questions for Dr Chan to answer. Dr Chan answered most of my questions and she even prescribed an expensive cream for Claire 's eczema. This cream is expensive but steriods free.

Claire has developed this nasty habit of scratching her head (i suspect due to heat rashes) and her body whenever she can. Thank god, her eczema did not flare up as badly as per her last 2 jabs.

We suspect it could be due to bathing her in bitter gourd vines' water, giving her more water parades, letting her sleep even more and mabbe those creams & lotions that I had applied her with.

My only consolation now is that her face is getting better. Hopefully as time goes by, her hands, body and legs will recover slowly! Now, her legs are the worst!

Also, she will be seeing the specialist at KKH on 7th April, I hope the doctors there will be able to conduct those allergies tests on her to determine the real cause of her eczema!

Happy things!

Even though, life has changed alot and time passed faster since the arrival of Piglet.

The happy things I discovered last week,

1. Learning that Piglet has finally rolled over by herself
2. Having some US time with Pirate King - Just watching Lust, Caution at home
3. Managed to catch some sleep on Sunday morning!
4. This might sound gross, being able to pass motion! (I was constipated for 1 whole week!)

So, i strived to do the following:

1. Reduce the amount of nagging and shouts at Pirate King (usually related to Piglet's stuff)
2. Try not to be irriated by my in laws' behaviour and words
3. To tell my in laws' firmly not to kiss or touch Piglet too much (coz of Piglet's eczema, plus me as the Mummy also did not kiss Piglet!)
4. To be more relaxed about future child care arrangements for Piglet

How much sleep do babies need?

Claire is up to her tricks again last night!

She woke up at 12.30am, 2.30am and 5.30am. I am a panda today and nursing a bad headache!

I seriously wonder how much sleep babies need? Based on the guideline, between 3 - 6 months old, she should be sleeping a total of 12-15 hours.

This little rascal dun seem to be sleeping that much. Sigh, i just pray for the day that she can sleep through the night without waking up!

Sleepy...

Very sleepy and having a headache......

Pray i could sleep well tonight.

Finally!

My notti gal has finally flipped today!

It's just too bad that I dun get to see it!

Changing Habits

Its really amazing to see the growth of my cheeky gal!

Just by looking at her photographs from birth till now, her changes are significant. From her looks, she resembled Pirate King at birth but now she is a mini version of me!

Her drinking habits had also changed, she used to drink 180ml per feed and at least 6 times a day. Now, getting her to finish 150ml of milk is a challenge and it gets frustrating when she can fall asleep halfway in her feed!

Sleeping habit is constantly changing, she hates to sleep on her side and wants us to craddle her to sleep. Now, she dislikes being craddled, she wants to sleep on her side and be patted to sleep! Not to mention, she will wake up in the middle of the night and talk herself to sleep!

The things remain unchanged are her eczema, her temper and refused to be alone by herself!

Somehow, I have the feeling that raising Claire is going to be a life time challenge and its a job that I can't resign from!

Eczema - Part 4

The weather is starting to turn hot and Claire's eczema flared up this morning! Yesterday, this silly gal scratched her legs and they are full of wounds. I told Mum to apply moisturiser on her legs. Mum told me that it is pointless and will make her itch even more! I almost fainted when i hear this....

Mum told me that by bathing Claire with bittergourd's vine, her eczema totally subsided. I guess that is the only remedy that works better than steriod cream and moisturisers. The only problem is that it is not easily found. Thanks to my younger Sis-in-law, i m able to get these bittergourd vines.

Actually, I kinda blamed my father in law for causing Claire's eczema to flare up last weekend. He drove us and his car was like one big hot oven. My Mother in law has already instructed him to cool the car but yet... Sigh!

Guess i can only pray that Claire outgrows this condition fast!

Nevertheless, i will continue praying that Claire will outgrow eczema fast!

Swimming!

Swimming is one activity that I will very much like Claire to do instead of bringing her to shopping malls for window shopping.

So, after months of persuasion and threats to Pirate King on bringing Claire to this place that has tub swimming for babies. We finally went there last Saturday.

Quoting Pirate King's words on the session,"$25 for clearing a piece of mucus from Claire's nose is really expensive!"

This place has 3 big tubs for babies to "swim". The babies are given a float around their neck and plonked them into the big tub of water to swim.

When the lady put the float around Claire's neck, Claire's expression looks pissed off but she has not made any statement yet. The moment, we plonked her into the tub, she is so happy as her feet is able to touch the bottom of the tub (that's not called "swimming") and she starts to kick a bit.

Upon hearing my complaint on her touching the tub's bottom, the lady in charge poured in more water. This little rascal of mine starts to enjoy herself but her face is expressionless and she knows how to hold on to the float! Subsequently, the float is making her uncomfortable and she starts to wail!

The moment the float is taken off her and with my hands supporting her in the tub. She is so happy and back to her cheeky self. Guess what, she did a doggy style (ie floating by herself) without me doing anything! The best part is that the big piece of mucus in her nose came off and i squirmed when i saw it sinking down to the bottom of the tub!

I think I gotta scrub Doris' bath tub and bring Claire there for more swimming sessions! Hopefully, Doris has a rubber ducky too!

Jump, Jump, Jumperoo!

Yup, i got the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo for my cheeky gal.
I heard loads of positive reviews on this toy and the first time, i put Claire in to try. She was jumping for joy and she never looked so happy before!
Pirate King was hesitant to get it for her as he s afraid that it might become another white elephant like the Bumbo seat and this toy isn't cheap either!
With $190+ pockets lighter, we got her this toy. I will say, this toy helps us alot by distracting her for at least 15minutes before she starts to fuss. At least, she gets to develop her calf muscles while we have a bit of time to do our stuff. I just pray that this toy will be able to last till my future 2nd child!
I admit that Pirate King & I spoilt Claire's rotten with all these toys and lotsa love. Somehow, I wonder whether will we be able to provide our future 2nd child with the same kind of stuff like what we did for Claire!
PS: My Mum bought another teether for Claire! Another doting Grandma!

Internet Shopping!

Help! I m hooked on internet shopping!

Ever since, I bought Claire's eczema's lotions & creams from Amazon.com. I m absolutely hooked onto online shopping. I will go through various US websites to check out for any pretty clothings and shoes for her and online shopping has been made easier with the introduction of VPOST US shipping.

Guess what, I just placed another order for Claire's eczema's lotions & a soft toy for her from Amazon.com. I m really one big spendthrift Mum!

The next thing i wanna do is to get my Sis to get Claire's pediped shoes from San Francisco when she is there for her assignment!

Stupid Me!

Yup, its really STUPID of me!

Claire woke up quite a couple of times and twice, Mum came over to chide her to go to sleep. After that, Mum realised that Claire was shivering with cold. Then, Mum wrapped an extra blanket on Claire. With the extra blanket, Claire was sleeping till her next feed.

I felt so STUPID and if Claire has caught a chill or fallen sick due to this. I will be so guilt stricken, the very fact that i will feel cold, what about my Claire?

Baby Carrier

I bought a new baby carrier for Claire last Saturday.

This carrier is a 2nd hand Babybjorn Baby Carrier Air. It costs me $90, a new one will cost $199! The reason for getting this carrier is that the current one (given by Michael & Polly) is bulky, no adequate support for the baby and straining on the adult.

The minute Claire is put into the carrier, she is so happy and kept on smiling at us. This carrier allows her to explore the world with her eyes and perspective!

Going for a holiday soon!

I bought Claire's air tickets on last Saturday. She still has to pay for the airfare even though she doesn't occupy any seat on the plane!

We bought her ticket at the SQ office at Paragon. The queue for us is short as they gave us a queue number designated for First Class passengers. How i wish we could travel First Class!

Mum suggested bringing Claire over to HK as her friend, Auntie Swee also wants to go HK. So, we will be travelling together to HK and Mum will be back with Claire at a later date. How long Mum and Claire will stay in HK is dependent on Claire's adaptability.

I m excited about bringing Claire for her first overseas trip but at the same thing, its quite a headache in packing her stuff. Even though, she doesn't occupy any seat on the plane, her baggage is more than us adults!
