High Maintenance one

I realised how high maintenance Claire is!

It all begun with her birth! She was assigned to Dr. Irene Chan as her PD. Pirate King & I got a shock when we realised that Dr. Chan's clinic is at Paragon (READ: Expensive place!!)

Then we tried on different brands of disposable diapers on her, the conclusion is her ATAS butt can only tolerate Pampers Premium if not, its diaper rashes for her!

Clothes, have to buy 100% cotton and good quality ones... Anything less than that, woohoo... Will contribute to her eczema flares up!

When the weather gets hot, she has to sleep in air conditioned places if not, its eczema flare up time! That lead to the increase in our utilities' bill!

Currently, due to her constipation problem, we had no choice but to let her drink Japanese Milk formula! The formula dun come cheap and its not easily available in SG, we have to buy it from HK retailers and get them to ship to SG!

My thoughts, as parents i will give the best to her whenever i can and I just hope that she will stay healthy & happy as she grows no matter how high maintenance she is!

Do i need to lose weight?

Last night, i went for my facial & my beautian asked me this question,

"Have you thought of losing weight?"

Frankly speaking, this thought is 50-50 on my mind as I still can fit into most of my clothes (abit tight) and I told her, I will really go for slimming treatments after giving birth to a 2nd child! She was quite humoured by my reply.

During my pregnancy, I put on 17kg and it took me 6 months to lose it totally. Despite losing the weight, my hips expanded, my tummy became even more flabby! Other than these, my weight is back to my normal weight. I was the slimmest at my customary wedding.

I guess at the moment, I dun see any need to lose weight even though shredding a few kgs will be the best! But as long as I dun have any health issue, i think i will just continue my current lifestyle!

1001 type of idiotic colleagues

This is something that will make everyone laugh!

I tabao lunch today coz my Dad flew me 747! Ah fry, u see... kena "retribution" for flying you 747 1st!

So, i tabao my fave Tom Yam noodles. This noodles got story one, a few weeks ago, i ate this in office and a fellow colleague did an idiotic thing to mask the aroma of the noodles... The colleague sprayed some perfume in the air!

That perfume stinks big time and its by Victoria Secrets (Sorry to the fans of this perfume, it is really stinko!) My Smart Superior asked me what i had coz she can smell it but its not offensive BO and its not DURIAN... DURIAN IS A BIG NO NO in the office coz of the expat directors. Anyway, i was suspecting one of my FEMALE colleagues (another dept) who did this idiotic stunt of spraying perfume to mask the smell!

Back to Today, I finished my noodles. And i overhead the 2 ladies conversation, "Got smell ah.. U can use your Victoria Secrets what!" And so, i went to the pantry and threw away my noodles. Back at my workstation, the SMELL is BACK!!!! Its so bad that my sinuses came! So, i told another fellow colleague about the smell. He also agreed with me that it stinks! Guess what he did, he exclaimed loudly about how stinko the perfume is! One of them gave him a look!

Okie, it is inconsiderate of me to eat the noodles at my desk instead at the pantry. She can tell me nicely about it instead of doing this idiotic stunt of using the perfume to mask the smell. Frankly speaking, she is digging her own grave... Such behaviour reflects alot on her... No wonder, still stuck in the same place & post after so many years in the company.

Spent $$ again!

Aww, i spent $$ again! Clothes for Piglet and a bag for myself!!!

Spending => Help economy recover faster! But i m supposed to save $$$ and cut down on unnecessary spending!!!!

How much did i spend? A mere US$30.60 but i m feeling the guilt!

Updates => I just renewed my facial package! Amount spent is $1,390!! Awwww.... Anyway, i guess this money is better well spent on me than buying clothes for Piglet!

It all begins with Crocs....

My parents in laws wear Crocs to work as Crocs are soft and making it comfortable for them as they re required to stand for long hours in their work. They operated the canteen's drinks stall anyway!

2 Sundays ago, my elder SIL asked Pirate King this question (Conversation as below)

SIL : Does Robinson sell Crocs?
PK : No, why u want to buy Crocs?
SIL : No lah. Dad needs to buy coz his Crocs were stolen as he left the shoes at the doorstep.
PK (looking at me) : Where is the nearest place selling Crocs har? (We are at Raffles Hotel)
Me: Marina Square
PK: Think Vivo also sells...
SIL : (Ultimate question) Do u think Causeway point sells?
PK : How will i know?????
Me : WTF (inside my head)

So, last Tuesday saw a post on the forum that there is a Crocs sale at Isetan Wisma. Told Pirate King about it, we went to check them out. The discount is very good but i was hungry. As usual, PK called his father and asked about the sizing. Then PK came to me and asked me about the bloody sizing! I shot him down immediately: "I had done my part by telling you about the sale. You asked me about the size? Bloody hell, u really think i m the SALES ASSISTANT SELLING CROCS?"

Anyway, he knew he made a stupid blunder and scooted immediately to ask the sales staff about the sizing. He called my FIL and reported the available colours to him. In the end, PK bought a pair for my MIL coz there was only PINK colour for my FIL's size!! (Me, laughing like a hynenat when i knew it... Ya, i m very evil!)

So, the news of my MIL's Crocs selling at $20 spread like wildfire in the canteen and my parents in laws' workers all rushed to buy it at Isetan Wisma. The story has not ended yet...

I went to Vivo last Thursday and checked out the Crocs for my FIL again. Told PK that it was selling at $53.45 for my FIL's size. PK told me not to buy for my FIL coz my FIL finds it EXPENSIVE!!!

Yesterday, PK told me that his Father dun mind another Crocs design selling at Anchorpoint for $35. So we went to Anchorpoint, as usual it was another long telephone call coz of my pattern FIL. The Sales assistant was kind enough to tell us that the Crocs are exchangeable for sizes if it dun fit!

So today, PK called me and told me that the size we got for his father is one size bigger. And we have to go down to Anchorpoint this evening to buy him another pair one size smaller coz his worker is taking over that pair!! Also, he has to help my Father in law to buy another pair of Crocs for another of his worker!

We went down to Anchorpoint and it was 7pm when i reached there. I m hungry plus my heels are killing me (i wore a new pair of shoes to work!)... STUPID PK took a long time to get the Crocs and he kept on asking me about the sizes. I got so pissed off that i walked out of the place. After that, I flared up at him! It cant be helped if we re buying for my FIL but the worker? Come on, no sizes then dun buy, dun kept on asking me about the sizes! I m not the bloody shop assistant! Plus, Anchorpoint is no a 5-10 mins walk from my home. I need to spend at least $2 on the bus fare!

CONCLUSION: I SHOULD KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT! ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ANG CLAN IS NONE OF MY BIZ!

In HK so far

Claire is in Hong Kong for 1 week. Based on what Mum has told me, Claire is a mini replica of me!

1. The first thing she did upon reaching HK Aunt's place is to climb up onto the dining chair and see what's there to eat on the table!

2. Mum is weaning her off the sarongs for the afternoon naps. Claire is ok about it except that she needs someone to accompany her for at least 1 hour before she is willing to nap!

3. She is taking the Japanese Formula milk and so far, she has not have any constipation problem yet.

4. Claire is really a chilli padi. My cousin scolded her for being naughty. She stared at him for very long and looked like she wants to cry. Mum then carried her, while she was being carried. She continue to stare at my cousin! Sheesh, how come a 16 months old be so fierce?

5. Certain food still dun agree with Claire. Mum fed her egg custard cake, saffron flower fish and orange. Claire's immediate reaction was her face turning red!

6. Claire is a destroyer! Grace (my cousin's 3 year old daughter) 's toys are almost spoilt due to her chor lor playing!

7. Oh, HK Aunt just told me that Grace refused to go home coz she still wants to play with Claire. Somehow, i have this feeling that my rascal is the one who teaches Grace all the wrong things!

8. Mum gave up potty training her and just let her poo whenever she wants but Claire is not so resistant on sitting at the potty to poo as before!

9. Claire was frightened by a dog yesterday at my relatives' place in HK. She was tagging behind HK Aunt and making the "woof woof" sound at the dog at the same time. Unfortunately, none of the adults could stop the dog's action, my dear gal's "woof woof " made the dog pawed at her. She was frightened by it, screamed at the dog (immediately scared the dog away) and was wailing when Mum went to carry her away.

Now, I m just wondering how will she be when she is back in Singapore!

Haha.... Finally got it cooked!

This morning, meet Ah Fry at Choa Chu Kang to go to Farmart to buy live prawns & lala for a cook out at my place!

Farmart reminds me of the Mushroom farm in Genting! But, i would say if i have a car. I will drive there to get the seafood & veggies for cooking!

Ah Fry is the chef while i m just the assistant, helping out here & there! Hehe, the below photos are what she has cooked! I looked forward to the next session but it will be even more rowdy coz Piglet will be back and going into the kitchen to disturb! HEhee!

This colleague of mine commented:

C : "Wow, you looked great today!"
Me: "U mean i usually dun look great?"
C : "No lah, today you looked exceptionally great!"
Me: "Oh, u mean my outfit suits my chor lor image isit?"

Then my colleague smiled and walked away. It dawned on to me the reason for his compliements. My colleague is famous for oggling at WOMEN!

My outfit made me looked slimer and my boobs bigger!!! Sheesh, so much for this type of compliement!

Happy for Pirate King!

I m happy for Pirate King coz his boss gave him an ad hoc bonus for his hard work. He told me that his dept is actually under staffed and he did extra.

Looking at his bonus, I feel so demoralised... The last time, i got such recognition was working as a temp and the manager gave me the bonus coz she feels that I deserved it. In my current co, everyone gets the same increment & bonus... Who will be motivated to do extra?

Plus, the performance appraisal is a joke. It is just a formality, it has no bearings on our increment or variable bonus. Yet Smart Superior still wants us to do with it enthusiasm. To me, I deem the appraisal as a way of re-distribution of work load.

Yes, i m really unhappy in my current job but yet i can't do much coz of the way SS manages plus with the economy in such state.... I m also hesitant to move out! Dilemmas dilemmas!

Am on MC today. Doc actually gave me 2 days of MC but i told SS that i will be going back tomorrow for work.

Sprained my back on Sunday while trying to break Piglet's fall. Went for Tui na but still dun helped... Cant get to sleep due to the pain and now..... blogging about it....

Scary Incident

Almost forgotten to blog about this scary incident on last Sunday.

I was carrying Claire in one hand and holding her water bottle in another hand, walking from the kitchen to the living room. I wanted to put her down on the sofa to drink her water.

I slipped and i was frantically trying to prevent her from falling head down. Somehow, I managed to grab her buttocks first but not protect her head, i panicked. And her head was like going to head the floor down... Suddenly, i managed to hold her head and prevent it from hitting the floor but her head hit the bottle.

She was crying when i landed on the floor but i guess she cried coz of the shock... After a while, she smiled when i gave her the forbidden toy to play, our telephone!

This gave me the scare of my life and in the process of breaking her fall, i hurt my back again!

After thoughts

The decision of having a 2nd child has always been on my mind. Seeing Pirate King behaving in such a manner, really turns me off of having a 2nd one but the thought of Claire being all alone with no siblings when Pirate King & me are not around.... really gave me 2nd thought!

Last Friday, I attended a wake of an Auntie (family friend of Mum). She passed away of breast cancer, her daughter the only child (my childhood playmate) also got breast cancer & finished her chemotherapy.

The whole thing was so sad, seeing my friend all alone sitting there while the monks are conducting rites. My friend's main worry is her Dad. If she will to pass away, who will take care of her father? Also, she told me that Uncle is not taking too well on her mother's death.

So, seeing my friend in this state... I guess i will have a 2nd child and let nature runs its own course bah.

Ms Piggy off to HK for 3 weeks!

Ms Piggy is now in HK. She travelled with Mum & SK Auntie. I will be missing my little rascal for 3 weeks!

Heart Melting Moments 2

On Tuesday, I was home late coz of a teleconference with Europe & US.

The moment i stepped into my home, I saw Pirate King in the kitchen and i asked him, "Where's Claire?"

Claire heard my voice and walked out from the room. She was so happy to see me and literally ran to me when i called her, "Sweetie".

I carried her and told her to kiss me and she gave me a big wet kiss. Usually when i asked her to kiss me, she will just make the sound only!

My heart melts and all the stress at work is all gone!

Choice of words...

Was being blasted by my SMART SUPERIOR (SS) for using this word, "warrao."

What triggered me to use this word? Simple, i have this dumb project on-going and SS told me to test the response. I only have the time to do it today coz past 2 days, i was desparately trying to clear the data problem.

This morn, SS sent an reminder email followed by personal reminder. So, i asked her about the method to do when she was doing the personal reminder to me. I blurted "warrao" at the stupidity of this project.

SS said," You know you should not be using this word, "Warrao". Especially as a woman." I was quite PISSED OFF. She is not my Mum and I m not using the "FxxK" word, so all in all... She has no reason to tell me off in that manner.

BAsically, she was unhappy that i openly state this project is stupid! It is a stupid project! Our current system dun hv the capacity to handle the detention/demurrage revenue. Asia Region is the most messy one in collecting this revenue due to the different cultures & practices of each countries.

And the head office suddenly decides that in such bad times, that is a good one to generate revenue. So much focus have to be done on this area, y this project is stupid coz the reporting required by the HO is not thought of properly... Its like doing experiments w/o any proper assumptions or parameters.

And frankly speaking, we should be thankful if there are volumes of cargo loaded on our vessels. Detention & demurrage revenue to be collected? Hahaaaaaa.....

The only thing that made me happy now is the thought of me resigning and leaving SS to die.... coz of headcount freeze!

Constipation - Hopefully to be resolved...

Claire has finished the 7 days course of Chinese medication.

Her condition seems to improve. Yesterday, Mum told me that Claire only poo a bit of the hard stools and did not poo any more. So on the advice of my fren, I told Mum to give Claire salt water to drink in the morning.

Claire did poo out the hard stools and Mum gave her some boiled wintermelon with barley water to drink. Claire poo out all the hard stools followed by soft ones. I think the salt water works and according to my friend, salt has a cooling property too!

Now, going to let Claire drink the salt water for 2 weeks. Btw, the salt water is just a few pinches of salt with warm water!

Ms Claire is a mini replica of me now!

Oh, i dun mean her looks... More like her actions....

Mum was "complaining" of how active she is now.

Claire loves to climb up to the dining chair and check out the stuff on the dining dinner. Its very funny to see her doing that, especially if the chair is tucked into the table and there is no space for her to move up to the dining table. She will scream/cry for help if there is no space for her to move.

She is simply an Energizer Bunny. She loves to dance, shake her butt, sway her bodies to any POP music especially this song, "That's not my name." Cant remember who the singer was! She loves climbing up the sofa, grab the remote control (if no adults are watching) and switch on the TV or channel switch for us.

Another fave activity of her, she LOVES to sit on any stools and its cute. Coz she will slowly put herself down on the stool and slowly move herself up from the stool!

All in all, she can't stop for a moment and is as active as me when i was young. Despite, getting knocks & bumps, my little gal wont stop and will still continue to try out stunts & pushed boundries!

Envy envy?

A fellow forum Mummy got a LV Trevi bag as a birthday gift, she was quite surprised by it as she din expect her husband to buy it for her.

When i told Pirate King about it, he acted blur immediately. I guess for him, he rather spend the $$ on getting me a notebook than a LV bag. But i guess he is lucky coz I m not a fan of LV!

Frankly speaking, i might sound envious but its just the "grass is always greener" on the other side mentality. For me, I have many wants but they re not needs. I dun need them to survive and they dun increase my chances of being promoted?

But at the moment, I need to do the following:

1. Resolve Piglet's constipation issue
2. Pay off all my credit card bills
3. Stop buying unnecessary things
4. Be lenient to myself and others

Force feeding of Chinese Medicine!

Mum & I bought Ms Piggy to see the EYS TCM yesterday noon for her constipation problem.

The moment we stopped giving her the lutalose solution, her poo was hard and she bled when she tried to poo!

The TCM doctor told us that she is heaty and gave us 7 days of medication. The medication is in a form of powder and bitter to taste! Yesterday noon, Claire refused to take the medication and vomitted it out purposely!

This morning, Mum was telling me about her shoulder aching after trying to force feed Claire the medicine last night. So this morning, I was in charge of holding Claire while Mum fed her the medicine....

Boy, how she WAILED! It was so loud and it was back to those days where i gave her water parade except that now she is stronger and harder to pin her down in my arms! When we finished feeding her the medicine, she looked so funny! The medicine was on her clothes and her mouth!

My heart melts...

Last night, Pirate King fetched Claire home alone coz I was working OT (Month end closing again!)

Claire's usual bedtime ritual => Milk followed by lights out and me accompanying her to sleep. Most of the time, i was the one who knocked out first!

Pirate King told me that Claire dun really wanna sleep last night even though she s sleepy and she walked up to the side of the bed where i usually sleep and called, "Mama, Mama"

Aww, my heart melts when i heard this from Pirate King!
