Lacy Story.....

As mentioned in my previous post, I had actually bought a dress for my civil solemnisation ceremony in Apr...

After some advice from my friends, I decided to ask my Mum to sew a dress for me. Once dearest Mummy has agreed to sew for me, we went to hunt for the materials. Mum loves to look at fabrics (occuptional "hazard" of her), she went to Arab Street and Chinatown to check out the fabrics for me.....

Both of us decided to check out this fabric shop, Khemcos at Centrepoint! We had bought fabric from it before but their fabric are quite expensive as they sell good quality cotton, silk and laces fabric..... In order to match my pink shoes, my selection of the colours for the fabrics are pretty limited!

For those who knew me, I m a big fan of lace fabric! So, the minute I touched the french lace... I won't settle for anything less! Plus, there is a sale on the lace that I wanted! I boldly bought 2 metres of blue colored french lace.... .. The lace is so pretty and soft that you can't help but to touch it more!

Unexpected!

The unexpected things always happen!

2 weeks ago... I was at my boyfriend's place.... The usual practice is that I will wait for him to finish his beauty bath first before sending me home later.....

I was in his study and he shown no signs of going to bath... I was thinking to myself,"Hmm.. why is he not going to shower? Nevermind, nag him when i sit down later..." Then, i turn his chair around, preparing to sit...........

The thought of nagging him to shower was completely out of my mind! On the chair, I saw this soft toy... A bear holding a heart and around its' neck is a printed enlarged Cartier diamond ring! He asked the magic question... I was so touched by his gesture that I kept on having this silly smile on my face!

Well... as for my "Cartier" diamond ring... He told me that we should take our time to shop for it!

Its quite an unique proposal! And i had named the bear "50 Million"!

Disappointment...

I saw this ad posted online for the sale of a lace wedding gown....

I fell in love with the design when the seller emailed me pictures of it... Finally, I managed to contact her and arrange to check out the gown....

Unfortunately, it was disappointment as the gown is too small for me and if i will to buy it, I need to lose at least 2 inches on my waist.....

Sigh.... The search will continue.......

My "Little Black Dress"

As my civil solemnisation ceremony is in April 06... that is another 2 months to go....

I need a dress for this ceremony.... Initially, I have no intention to buy any new dress for it.... but the women in my family won't heard of it.... Thus, the search for the "Little Black Dress" begins......

Being an extremely picky person and someone who does not have a fanastic figure ie NOT SLIM! The search is a tough one.....

I chanced upon this dress 2 days ago while shopping with my Mum... My Mum is my fashion adviser and she used to be a seamstress.... She is those type of Mum that will ask you to change your clothes if she saw what her children wearing are not presentable!

The minute I tried it on, I FELL IN LOVE with it!!!!! This dress came with a hefty price tag but it has a 30% discount and on top of it, I have a $50 discount voucher to be used... I wanted to buy it immediately..... But, Mum stopped me.... Her reason is simple... Go and shop around first before buying it!

Today, Mum and I went shopping again...... After going though various brands, whether local or international designers..... My heart is set! It's going to be that dress!

I personally felt that Mum wanted me to get a white coloured dress..... but after trying different designs of white dresses, white dresses don't flatter me at all! They made my tummy looked obvious!

Finally, I bought the little black dress...... The little black dress is not black... It's turquoise blue and its a Laundry by Shelli Segal dress! Do not asked me about the price, all I can say that it's a good buy cum investment coz I will wear this dress to other formal functions!!!!!

My Prize!

Now, I m taking my time to research and shop for my wedding stuff.....

Last Sunday, I was window shopping with my Mum at some malls..... I loved shoes and I admit the fact that clothes are accessories to my shoes! Sometimes, I wished I can be like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex & the City... having Jimmy Choos, Manolo Blahniks... All those nice and sexy shoes........

My Mum and I saw this big "SALE" sign at a shoe store.... We went in and I fell in love with this pair of shoes..... And this pair of shoes was the last pair, thus it had a huge 70% discount on it... I was hesitating on buying it but my Mum gave the OK... Thus, I was $71 poorer.......

Preparation.... Preparation.....

In order to execute the grand plan, a huge amount of preparation is required.... Planning your own wedding is like organising a Dinner and Dance for yourselves....

Essential, practical help and advice is acceptable at all times.... Though, sometimes I get pretty crappy advice from people........ That literally riled me up... and that will start a chain of actions... That followed like this:

Angry at fiance => Arguments & Fights => Cold Wars => Tiring!

Thus, I conclude that all this planning really tests our relationships... I heard from my friends that some couples broke up due to the stress of the planning and executation of the grand plan...
And I do hope that this test of relationship, I will pass with FLYING COLOURS!

To start with.....................

To start with........

The moment, my fiance and I got our apartment, it signifes the end of singles' life for us....

So, the next big step we need to take is to get married......And being a Chinese, we will have a customary wedding after our civil solemnisation ceremony.....

As planned, my civil solemnisation ceremony is held in April 06 and the Chinese customary wedding held in January 07.

Thus, this begins my grand plan of schemes.......
